Needs a F-15 too. The P-47 was the A-10 of it's day, as the P-15 was the Eagle equivelent back then.

The Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbot II is the direct descendant of the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, it's namesake.

You know how they build the A-10? Some dude at Fairchild said, "Hey, Joe, what's the biggest gun we can put on an airplane?" Joe responded with "That'd be the GAU-8 Avenger." The first dude said, "Cool, lets throw an engine or two on it, some wings, and a cockpit." And, alas, the A-10 was born.
