From SFO to San Jose the whole side of the bay is one long runway (it seems) and then here is this humongeous hanger right out of the 1930s. Amazing.

The hangar in Akron Ohio is where the Akron and the Macon were built. Look up Goodyear Hangar Akron. This might be from the 1930's just prior to the zeplins.

It's Hanger One at NAS Moffett..Dumbarton Point at the upper right corner across the bay looking nor-east. Bldgs to the inside, left through hanger was NASA U-2 recon hangers..Moffett Officer's club is to the far left past the "v" where hanger and edge of photo meet....Akron it is not.

The inside of this building from the floor is so unholy & unbelievable. They can get clouds / condensation inside sometimes too, it's that tall.

I stay in a hotel just south of Moffit Filed each year and I can sit there and lok at this out the window.
There are another giant pair of these in Tustin, CA right near SNA/John Wayne.
